BACON AND RICE RECIPE
This recipe
will teach you how to make Bacon and Rice. It is a quick and
easy recipe to make. When you add bacon, mushrooms and
onions to rice you get a wonderful tasting rice recipe. I am
a real lover of rice and so is my family. When I make the
Bacon and Rice I like to make up a stir fried vegetables to
have with it. My grandsons really love coming over for a
family meal and I usually make this recipe up and they try
to eat it with chop sticks.
Bacon
and Rice Ingredients
1 onion
watercress
2 oz butter
salt and pepper
6 rashers bacon
4 oz mushrooms
8 oz long grain rice
Bacon
and Rice Method
In a large saucepan add the
butter and melt it then remove the rind from the bacon and
chop two rashers into small pieces then cut remaining
rashers in half and roll tightly. Put the bacon in the
saucepan and fry until crisp. Remove the rolls of bacon and
keep to one side. Wash and slice the mushrooms and fry in
remaining butter then remove bacon and mushrooms and put to
one side.
Peel and finely chop the onion then in remaining butter fry
the onion and rice for 10 minutes. Add 1 pint of water, salt
and pepper and bring slowly to the boil then simmer for 15
minutes or until rice is tender and the water has absorbed.
Return the mushrooms and bacon pieces and then mix well. Put
the Bacon and Rice onto a serving dish and garnish with
bacon rolls, mushrooms and watercress.
