BANANA CHOCOLATE CAKE RECIPE
This Banana Chocolate Cake
recipe is one you can use for a special occasion, maybe a
birthday cake. I made the Banana Chocolate Cake for my
husband and mine wedding anniversary. It is a great cake for
any occasion. My grand daughter got me to make the Banana
Chocolate Cake for her birthday and she had friends over and
they all thought it was from the bakers.

Chocolate Cake Ingredients
2 eggs
6 oz milk
pinch salt
6 oz butter
1 cup sugar
2 oz chocolate
1 tsp baking powder
3/4 tsp bi-cab-soda
2 1/2 cups plain flour
1 tsp vanilla essence
1 cup mashed banana
1/2 pint cream with sugar and vanilla for flavouring

Chocolate Cake Method
Prepare
two 8 inch sandwich tins by greasing and lining the bottom
with paper. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Now you must start
by mixing the soda, salt and the baking powder with the
flour. Cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy and
add the eggs one at a time mixing it well after each
addition. Take the chocolate and put it into a bowl and put
it over a saucepan of hot water and gently melt it and then
add it to the creamed mixture and then add the vanilla. Mix
the dry ingredients in alternately with the milk and mashed
bananas and combine well. Divide the mixture evenly between
the sandwich tins and bake in the preheated oven for 35
minutes and then turn out onto a wire cooler. When the
Banana Chocolate Cake is quite cold split each layer in two
and then rejoin the four layers with whipped sweetened cream
making sure to keep a little for the top to decorate.
Decorate the Banana Chocolate Cake with whipped cream and
shaved chocolate.
