CANADIAN DATE CAKE RECIPE

Canadian Date Cake Ingredients

3 eggs
pinch salt
1 cup sugar
1/2 lb butter
3/4 cup milk
1 cup plain flour
1 tsp vanilla essense
1/2 lb dates chopped
2 cups self raising flour

Canadian Date Cake Method

First thing to do is line an 8 inch square tin with greased paper. Beat the butter and sugar to a soft cream and gradually add the eggs then flavour with the vanilla. Sift the flours with the salt and add to the creamed mixture alternately with the milk then stir in the dates. Place in the prepared tin and bake the Canadian Date Cake in a moderate oven 350 degrees for 1 1/4 hours. Serve with butter or whipped cream.
