CARAMEL RICE CUSTARD RECIPE
This recipe
will teach you how to make Caramel Rice Custard. It is a
quick and easy recipe to make.
I have always enjoyed a good rice custard but then I started
to experiment with adding some fruit on top of it and then I
decided to add caramel as my husband loves caramel so now
you have my Caramel Rice Custard.
Caramel
Rice Custard Ingredients
1 oz rice
pinch salt
4 egg yolks
1 Tbs sugar
3/4 cup milk
1 cup water
3/4 cup cream
caramelized sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla essence
Caramel
Rice Custard Method
Take the
rice and wash it then place it in a saucepan with the water
and salt and simmer gently until the water has all absorbed
and the rice is tender. Remove from the heat and add the
sugar, cream, and milk. In a small bowl beat the egg yolks
and stir them into the rice mixture and then add the
vanilla. Return the mixture to the heat and cook stirring
constantly until the custard thickens slightly. Pour into a
greased pie dish and place in a shallow pan containing about
an inch of cold water. Bake the Caramel Rice Custard in a
moderate oven 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until the
custard has set. Allow to cool. Drizzle over some caramel
made by heating 3 tablespoons of sugar in a small saucepan
until it turns a honey colour. If the caramel is too stiff
to pour add a little warm water and stir over gentle heat
and then pour over the Caramel Rice Custard.
