CRISPY TOPPED CASSEROLE RECIPE
This recipe
will teach you how to make Crispy Topped Casserole. It is a
quick and easy recipe to make. This is a fantastic casserole
to make. The flavours of the onion, steak and mixed
vegetables mixed with the rest of the ingredients and then
topped with the bread and cheese makes this an absolutely
sensational casserole recipe.

Topped Casserole Ingredients
1 onion sliced
salt and pepper
1/4 cup drippings
1 1/4 cups beef stock
1/4 cup all purpose flour
1 1/2 lb stewing steak cut into cubes
1/4 lb package frozen mixed vegetables cooked
Topping:
1/4 cup grated cheese
3 thick slices bread, crusts removed
2 Tbs butter blended with 1 tsp prepared mustard

Topped Casserole Method
In a pan melt the dripping and
gently fry onion until soft then remove from the pan and
place in a casserole. Season the flour with salt and pepper
and toss the meat in the seasoned flour and fry in the pan
until browned. Add the meat to the casserole and pour in the
stock. Cover and cook in a preheated moderate oven for about
1 1/4 hours. Mix the vegetables into the casserole. Spread
the bread with the butter and mustard mixture and cut slices
in half then arrange the bread on top of the casserole and
sprinkle over the cheese. Increase the oven temperature to
moderately hot and cook the Crispy Topped Casserole for a
further 30 minutes.
