DANISH SLICES RECIPE
This recipe
will teach you how to make Danish Slices. It is a quick and
easy recipe to make. These are wonderful slices to make as
the mixture of the pastry base topped with jam and then a
cake top and icing makes the Danish Slices taste really
sensational. I like doing some of the slices with a lemon
icing and some with a chocolate icing as it looks really
good in the tray with a check patern.
Danish
Slices Ingredients
2 eggs
pinch salt
3 Tbs milk
3 oz butter
3 Tbs sugar

2 Tbs tart jam
2 Tbs sultanas
1 tsp mixed spice
6 oz shortcrust pastry
1/2 tsp vanilla essence
1 1/2 cups self raising flour
4 oz lemon icing and chocolate icing
Danish
Slices Method
The first thing you must do is
line a greased 11 x 7 inch shallow tray with the pastry and
spread with the jam. In a bowl add the butter and sugar and
beat to a soft cream then add the vanilla. Beat the eggs and
gradually add them to the cream mixture then stir in the
sultanas. In a bowl sift the flour, salt and spice and add
to the mixture alternately with the milk then spread evenly
over the jam layer. Place in a moderate 350 degree oven and
bake for about 30 minutes and then cool in the tray. Cover
the Danish Slices with lemon and chocolate icing and
sprinkle with nuts. The Danish Slices looks great with 1

Now I have to tell you this is my favourite slice as I love
the flavours of
the biscuit base and the chocolate topping with white choc

can make this as a rich chocolate topping or just a light
chocolate topping just add more cocoa if you want it darker.
I prefer a darker one as I sprinkle white chocolate bits on
top and it looks really sensational and tastes fantastic.
