FILLET STEAKS WITH MUSHROOMS RECIPE
This recipe

special I caramelize the onion for it and put it on top of
the mushrooms.

20g butter
2 Tbs olive oil
1 tsp lemon pepper
1/2 cup dry red wine
6 large flat mushrooms
2 cloves crushed garlic
6 red onions sliced thinly
1/4 cup red wine vinegar
6 beef scotch fillet steaks
1 clove crushed garlic extra
2 Tbs chopped fresh basil leaves
1/3 cup firmly packed brown sugar

Steaks with Mushrooms Method
Combine the beef, wine, basil
and garlic in a large bowl then cover and refrigerate for 3
hours. Melt butter in a large frying pan and cook the onion
stirring until soften and browned lightly. Stir in the sugar
and vinegar and cook stirring constantly about 20 minutes or
until onion is well browned and mixture is thickened. Brush
the mushrooms with combined oil , extra garlic and lemon
pepper and cook on heated oiled barbecue until tender. Drain
beef and discard the marinade. Cook beef in batches on
heated oiled barbecue until browned and cooked as desired.
Top each piece of steak with a mushroom and a little
caramelized onion. Fillet Steaks with Mushrooms is great
served with a big tossed salad.
