GINGER GARLIC CHICKEN RECIPE

This recipe will teach you how to make Ginger Garlic Chicken. It is a quick and easy recipe to make. Ginger Garlic Chicken served with a bowl of chinese egg noodles is an excellent meal to serve. The flavours of the chicken, onions, garlic, chili powder, soy sauce, dry sherry, green ginger, chicken stock cubes and the chinese egg noodles gives this recipe an exceptional taste.

Ginger Garlic Chicken Ingredients

salt
cornflour
3 shallots
2 cups oil
2 tsp sugar
1.5g chicken
1 Tbs vinegar
1/2 cup water
4 cloves garlic
2 large onions
2 Tbs dry sherry
1 Tbs soy sauce
1 tsp chili powder
2 tsp cornflour extra
2 chicken stock cube
2 tsp soy sauce extra
1 1/2 Tbs brown sugar
5cm piece green ginger
185g chinese egg noodles

Ginger Garlic Chicken Method

Add noodles to a large saucepan of boiling salted water and stir well to separate noodles. Boil uncovered for 3 minutes or until noodles are tender and then drain the noodles and rinse under cold water. Make sure that the noodles are well drained. Cut the chicken into small serving size pieces and coat the chicken pieces lightly with cornflour. Heat the oil in a wok and fry a few pieces of chicken together at a time until golden brown and cooked through and drain well. Repeat with remaining chicken in batches. Drain off all oil from wok and return 3 tablespoons oil to wok and then add the noodles and extra soy sauce and toss in wok until heated then spread on serving plate and keep warm.


Into an electric blender place peeled and roughly chopped onions, peeled and chopped ginger, peeled garlic and chili powder. Blend on medium speed until mixture is very finely chopped. Return 2 tablespoons of oil to the wok and add onion mixture and cook for 3 minutes over low heat. Add chicken and toss well for 2 minutes over medium heat. Add combined water, crumbled stock cubes, salt, sherry, soy sauce, vinegar, sugar and extra cornflour. Toss mixture over high heat until sauce boils and thickens. Continue tossing mixture until sauce thickly coats the chicken. Spoon the Ginger Garlic Chicken over the noodles and top with finely shredded shallots.
