HONEY CHILI CHICKEN RECIPE
This recipe
will teach you how to make Honey Chili Chicken. It is a
quick and easy recipe to make.
Honey Chili Chicken served with a bowl of fried rice is an
excellent chinese meal to serve. The flavours of the
chicken, shallots and the sauce gives this recipe an
exceptional taste.

Chili Chicken Ingredients
salt
flour
6 shallots
2 Tbs honey
1/3 cup water
1.5kg chicken
2 tsp cornflour
2 tsp soy sauce
oil for deep frying
1/3 cup lemon juice
1 Tbs chinese chili sauce
2.5cm piece green ginger

Chili Chicken Method
Cut chicken into serving size
pieces then coat the pieces lightly with flour which has
been seasoned with salt. Fry half the chicken in deep hot
oil until golden brown then reduce heat and cook until
chicken is cooked through. Remove from oil and drain on
absorbent paper then repeat the process with the remaining
chicken then pour off excess oil leaving 1 tablespoon left
in pan. Add peeled and grated ginger to pan and saute gently
for 1 minute. Add honey and stir for 1 more minute. Add
combined cornflour, water, chili sauce, lemon juice and soy
sauce and stir until sauce boils and thickens. Add chicken
and toss in sauce for 3 minutes or until chicken is heated
through. Add sliced shallots and cook the Honey Chili
Chicken for further 1 minute. Serve with a bowl of steamed
rice.
