MA PO TOFU RECIPE
This recipe
will teach you how to make Ma Po Tofu. It is a quick and
easy recipe to make. Ma
Po Tofu is a hot and tasty dish. The flavours of the tofu,
mung bean sprouts and green onions mixed with the rest of
the ingredients makes the taste of this recipe really
exceptional.
Ma Po
Tofu Ingredients
1/3 cup ketchup
1 Tbs dry sherry
1 Tbs sesame oil
1/2 tsp hot sauce
1 Tbs vegetable oil
1/3 cup hoisin sauce
2 green onions sliced
3 garlic cloves minced
1/2 cup vegetable broth
2 cups mung bean sprouts
1 lb firm tofu cut to 1/2" cubes
1 Tbs cornstarch mixed with 2 Tbs water
Ma Po
Tofu Method
In a small bowl combine
broth, hoisin sauce, sherry, ketchup and hot sauce then set
aside. Place a wok over high heat and when hot add the
vegetable oil and add garlic and stir for 5 seconds then add
tofu and stir fry for 2 minutes then stir in reserved sauce
and cook 1 minute. Add bean sprouts and cook another minute
then add dissolved cornstarch and stir till sauce thickens.
Serve the Ma Po Tofu over noodles tossed in sesame oil or
over steamed rice. Garnish with onions.
