MONGOLIAN BEEF RECIPE
This recipe
will teach you how to make Mongolian Beef. It is a quick and
easy recipe to make.
Mongolian Beef goes great served with rice or noodles. The
flavour of beef, garlic, chilies, onions, hoisin sauce and
soy sauce makes it taste really good especially when the
beef has been marinated in dark soy sauce, sherry and
cornstarch mixed together. This is really a sensational
recipe.
Mongolian Beef Ingredients
1 Tbs soy sauce
2 Tbs hoisin sauce
2 Tbs minced garlic
2 1/2 Tbs cooking oil
10 small dried red chilies
10 green onions cut into 3 inch pieces
3/4 lb flank steak thinly sliced across the grain
Marinade:
2 Tbs dry sherry
1 tsp cornstarch
2 Tbs dark soy sauce
Mongolian Beef Method
In a bowl
combine the marinade ingredients then add beef and stir to
coat and let stand for 10 minutes. Place a wok over high
heat until hot and add 2 tablespoons oil swirling to coat
sides then add beef and stir fry until no longer pink.
Remove meat from pan. Add remaining 1/2 tablespoon oil to
wok swirling to coat sides then add garlic and chilies cook
stirring until the flavours are combined and you can smell
the aroma about 10 seconds then add green onions and stir
fry for 1 minute. Return meat to wok and add hoisin sauce
and soy sauce and cook until the Mongolian Beef is heated
through. Serve with rice or noodles.
