SHORTBREAD BISCUITS RECIPE
This recipe
will teach you how to make Shortbread Biscuits. It is a
quick and easy recipe to make. My mother use to make the
Shortbread Biscuits at christmas and do up in little baskets
and give to our neighbors as a little present for christmas
and they really enjoyed them as they new my mother went to
the trouble to make them. And now I do the same thing.
Shortbread Biscuits Ingredients
125g butter
pinch of salt
1/4 cup ground rice
1/4 cup castor sugar
1 1/2 cups plain flour
1 tsp ground cinnamon
caster sugar for sprinkling
Shortbread Biscuits Method
Sift the flour, salt, cinnamon
and ground rice into a large mixing bowl then stir in the
sugar. Rub in the butter until mixture resembles breadcrumbs
then knead until smooth but not sticky. Wrap in foil and
chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes. Press the dough
out to an 18cm round and place on a greased baking sheet.
Flute the edge and prick all over with a fork. Mark into 8
portions and chill for 30 minutes. Bake the Shortbread
Biscuits in a preheated moderate oven for about 40 minutes
or until pale golden. Leave on the baking sheet for 10
minutes then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Sprinkle with sugar and break into portions to serve.
