TROTTERS WITH GINGER RECIPE
This recipe
will teach you how to make Trotters With Ginger. It is a
quick and easy recipe to make.
Trotters With Ginger is a really sensational meal to make.
The flavours of trotters, turnips and sauce goes to make
this meal a really fantastic tasting meal. Have with soft
noodles or boiled rice.

With Ginger Ingredients
4 pigs trotters
1 1/2 cups sugar
250g green ginger
2 thin chinese turnips
1 1/2 cups brown vinegar

With Ginger Method
Get the butchers to cut the
trotters into 5 cm pieces. Place trotters into a large bowl
and cover with cold water and let stand for 15 minutes.
Drain and cover with fresh water let stand another 15
minutes and then drain. Place trotters into large saucepan
and cover well with cold water. Place over heat and bring to
the boil. Cover and boil for 1 minute and then drain. Cover
again with cold water and bring to boil for 1 more minute
and then drain. Scrape the skin from the ginger and then cut
ginger into chunky pieces approximately 1 cm. Peel chinese
turnips and cut into 2.5cm lengths.
Return trotters to pan add vinegar and sugar and prepared
ginger and stir until combined. Place pan over heat and
bring to boil reduce heat and cover and simmer for 2 hours
making sure to stir occasionally. Add prepared turnips to
pan and cover and let simmer for a further 1 hour. During
last 15 minutes of cooking the Trotters With Ginger remove
lid and increase heat slightly. Ginger sauce should be
reduced enough to coat pigs trotters in a thick glaze. Be
careful as the reduced liquid can burn on bottom of pan.
Stir occasionally during last 15 minutes of cooking time.
