WALNUT BREAD RECIPE

This recipe will teach you how to make Walnut Bread. It is a quick and easy recipe to make. Walnut Bread is a fantastic bread recipe full of walnuts. I love this bread for breakfast with butter, honey or jam the taste is sensational. It is a very nutritional bread to have on hand for a light meal.

Walnut Bread Ingredients

1 Tbs salt
5 cups bread flour
2 cups warm water
1 envelope dry yeast
1/2 cup walnuts chopped

Walnut Bread Method

In a large bowl put 2 cups of warm water and 1 envelope of dry yeast and whisk until dissolved then let it stand for 12 minutes. Mix one cup of flour at a time to form a dough that is too stiff to stir then turn out the dough onto a floured board and knead in remaining flour to get a soft smooth dough then keep kneading until elastic and slightly sticky about 4 minutes. Take a large bowl and lightly oil it and then add the dough and turn it to coat it with the oil, cover and let it rise in a warm place until it has doubled in size it usually takes around 1 to 2 hours.

Next while that is rising preheat the oven to 350 degrees and lightly flour 2 baking sheets. After the bread has finnished rising gently turn it out onto the lightly floured surface and do not let it deflate. Take a long sharp knife and cut dough into 3 equal pieces and gently stretch each piece into a long loaf shape and transfer to the prepared baking sheets make sure they are spaced at least 2 inches apart. Bake the Walnut Bread until loaves sound hollow when tapped on bottom about 1 hour and then transfer the loaves to a rack and let them cool completely.

Enjoy your freshly made Walnut Bread!
