WARM SPRINGS FRIED BREAD RECIPE
This recipe
will teach you how to make Warm Springs Fried Bread. It is a
quick and easy recipe to make. I learned to make this bread
a long time ago and it has became a family favourite treat.
This bread is wonderful served with ice cream and fruit on
top or you can have it as a savoury with a meat stew. My
family and I love it either way but as a special treat I
prefer it as a sweets. Use your imagination and you can do
anything with it.

Springs Fried Bread Ingredients
1 tsp sugar
1 tsp salt
1 Tbs butter
2 Tbs melted butter
2 tsp baking powder
1 cup warm milk
1 x fat for deep frying
3 cups sifted all purpose flour

Springs Fried Bread Method
In a
large mixing bowl combine all the dry ingredients and cut in
the butter. Add just enough warm milk to make a soft dough
thats easy to handle. On a floured board knead the dough
until it is very smooth and soft. Make sure not to use a lot
of extra flour while kneading. Take the dough and divide it
into 8 balls and brush the tops with melted butter then
cover them and let them stand for 45 minutes. Pat each ball
into a round 6 inches in diameter and 1/4 inch thick.
Preheat fat to 365 degrees and fry each round until brown on
one side then turn it over and do the other side till it is
brown, make sure you do not pierce the crust. The dough
should rise to the top as soon as you drop it into the oil.
Drain on absorbent paper and serve with whatever you prefer.
